Over 50 Years Past Performance as OEM on MHU-191 AWSE Armament and Ground Support Equipment

DeVal Lifecycle Support is proud to continue to support the warfighter as trusted OEM of the MHU-191 A/M Munitions Transporter for the Department of Defense. A common armament support equipment transporter used by both the U.S. Airforce and Navy. The MHU-191 was designed to easily transport munitions storage spaces through small, narrow spaces to aircraft on flight decks. The MHU-191 is used so frequently that the majority of land and sea adapters, such as the AERO 58A and ADU 925, are designed to fit and transform the transporter into a variety of pallets or skids to carry additional supplies.

MHU-191 OEM

Since 1965, DeVal has been manufacturing the MHU-191 Transporter originally coined the Aero 21A and developed exclusively for the Navy. In the early 1970’s the design activity made changes to the drawbar and brake system, upgrading the Aero 21A to the Aero 21C. DeVal was called out on the upgraded Brake Assy. P/N 64A114D281 as the Source for this brake noting our P/N DV600D90-1. Later in 1983 this unit was transformed again and upgraded to the MHU-191/M, again upgrading the braking system, and changing the drawbar to 1500AS200-1, which was designed by DeVal under our P/N DV600DM500-1, providing the rights and drawings to the Department of Defense.

DeVal continued to manufacture new 191s and remanufacture the Aero 21C units to updated specifications as well. For over half a century, we have manufactured over 5,000 new units and 400 remanufactured units. DeVal also produced the Aero 21C to MHU-191 conversion S.E.C. kit in the early 1980’s.

Over the last 15 years, DeVal has developed and produced CILOPS conversion kits that convert the MHU-191 to zero maintenance units. The CILOPS kits, shipped directly to the end user, and eliminates many daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance requirements on existing units. The Zero-Maintenance System (ZMS) reduces predictive and preventative man hour maintenance by 70%. The resulting updated MHU-191 munitions transporter requires no planned adjustments or lubrications and no additional levels of maintenance for a minimum of 5 years.

As the design of the MHU-191 adapted and changed throughout the years, our commitment and service to our customers continues. Through every design adaptation and innovation, our engineers worked closely with the DoD to ensure the strict protocols and processes were followed. Each mechanical design iteration was developed for reliability and customer satisfaction, from upgrading components to corrosion-resistant materials to performing the value-added engineering needed for design changes to LCS transporter. Whether it’s paint color, drawbar length, or fundamental design changes, our team provides proven, trusted manufacturing solutions quickly and efficiently. With our extensive history in the mechanical manufacturing of ground and armament support equipment, DeVal is proud to continue to support the U.S. warfighter and taxpayer.
