DeVal Lifecycle Support provides engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance and program management capabilities for U.S. Air Force MHU-110 and MHU-141 small munitions handling trailer requirements. These trailers are part of the Air Force’s non-powered Munitions Materiel Handling Equipment (MMHE) inventory and support the transport of munitions between munitions storage areas and the flightline.
DeVal’s integrated approach supports requirements review, systems engineering, design analysis, technical data, qualification, first article, production transition, modernization and fielded equipment sustainment.
As a HUBZone-certified small business with 70+ years of service to the Department of Defense, DeVal brings established munitions handling and ground support equipment experience to complex Air Force requirements.
DeVal’s MHU-141 modernization was redesigned for ease of use by maintainers. The modernization addresses maintenance-intensive legacy components with practical upgrades that improve reliability, corrosion resistance, serviceability and lifecycle performance.
MHU-110 and MHU-141 railers support the movement and positioning of munitions from storage and build-up areas to the flightline. Equipment availability contributes to efficient munitions handling, aircraft loading operations and mission generation.
Aging components, corrosion, recurring maintenance, parts availability and mixed configuration baselines can reduce operational availability. DeVal applies engineering, modernization, manufacturing and sustainment capabilities to address these conditions while improving maintainer efficiency and extending the life of critical support equipment.
DeVal’s support equipment modernization approach prioritizes reliability, maintainability, corrosion resistance and reduced scheduled maintenance. Applicable MHU-110 and MHU-141 design and modernization features include:
These upgrades are designed to reduce maintenance frequency, improve equipment availability and support consistent performance in demanding operating environments.
DeVal gives special consideration to the accessibility of critical service items in its approach to next-generation MHU-110 and MHU-141 trailer design. The design supports rapid inspection, adjustment and component replacement by maintainers wearing required protective equipment.
Maintainability provisions include:
DeVal’s work on the AERO 51E Series Munitions Trailer demonstrates experience manufacturing and testing munitions handling equipment. The AERO 51E serves as the Navy equivalent to the MHU-141/M and applies DeVal’s zero-maintenance approach to a fielded munitions trailer.
DeVal engineers and production personnel completed four days of testing and retesting on the newly manufactured AERO 51E. The testing video provides a direct view of DeVal’s production and test capabilities.
DeVal provides turnkey mechanical and electrical manufacturing from its Philadelphia facilities. Work is managed through ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100D-certified quality systems, supported by Nadcap-accredited magnetic particle and penetrant inspection capabilities.
Core capabilities include:
DeVal establishes an integrated program baseline that connects scope, schedule, risks, technical reviews, deliverables and production readiness. Cross-functional reviews provide consistent visibility into material availability, supplier performance, engineering progress, testing and manufacturing flow.
Our Line of Sight process provides customers with a project status update at least every 21 days. This cadence supports timely decisions, early risk response and shared visibility throughout contract execution.
