PHILADELPHIA, PA – October 1, 2025 – Parts Life, Inc. and DeVal Lifecycle Support will take part in the Navyand Marine Corps 250th Anniversary Homecoming Innovation Pavilion from October 9–11, 2025, at Cherry Street Pier in Philadelphia, PA. Hosted by DVIRC (Delaware Valley Industrial Resource Center). This once-in-a-generation celebration brings together Navy leadership, industry, academia, and the public to highlight technologies, partnerships, and workforce initiatives that directly support naval readiness.
Parts Life, Inc. will showcase its reverse engineering capabilities with Engineering Agile Global Lifecycle (EAGL) Lab, a mobile reverse engineering laboratory with dimensioning and testing capabilities directly at the point of need. Our team of engineers will be on-site providing live demonstrations of the EAGL Lab’s capabilities. The EAGL Lab is designed to operate both on base and in austere environments and provides:
Our team creates technical data and prototyping for form fit and function on-site, allowing customers to address diminishing manufacturing sources and material shortages (DMSMS) without delays associated with removing critically needed parts and components. This reduces downtime and restores operational availability across critical systems.
“Reverse engineering is mission-critical when legacy systems face obsolescence,” said Sam Thevanayagam, Founder and CEO of Parts Life, Inc. “There is a strategic gap where weapons systems used past their intended lifecycle need replacement parts and components, so they remain operationally ready while new platforms are being introduced. The EAGL Lab allows us to deliver manufacturable TDPs and qualified parts directly to the field. By closing sustainment gaps at the source, we support the Navy in maintaining fleet readiness and reducing dependence on extended supply chains.”
DeVal Lifecycle Support, a Parts Life, Inc. company, will present its 70-year history as an OEM for Navy ground support and armament handling equipment. Headquartered in Philadelphia, DeVal has been an advanced manufacturer of armament and ground support equipment since 1954, including the Navy’s standard flight deck weapons transporter, the MHU-191.
As the original equipment manufacturer for the MHU-191 since 1963, DeVal has built more than 5,000 units for the fleet. Over the decades, DeVal engineers have introduced design upgrades and retrofit kits that extend service life and improve performance, including:
“For more than half a century, the MHU-191 has been central to ordnance handling on carrier decks,” said Jeannie Whitfield, Vice President of Business Development at Parts Life, Inc. and DeVal Lifecycle Support. “We have continually improved this system strategically to meet the evolving requirements of austere environments at sea. Through value added engineering and innovation, the upgrades to the MHU 191 allows Sailors to transport weapons more safely and reliably, with less time spent on maintenance. Every upgrade implemented with our customers has resulted in more reliable support equipment increasing fleet readiness.”
Both Parts Life, Inc. and DeVal Lifecycle Support recognize that sustainment depends not only on technology, but also on skilled people. The companies have invested heavily in workforce development to strengthen the defense industrial base. Current initiatives include:
“Workforce readiness is mission readiness,” Thevanayagam added. “We are proud to build the next generation of makers: engineers, technicians, and manufacturers who will carry forward the Navy’s sustainment mission into the future. We’re proud to support our country while building capacity and capability within the Defense Industrial Base.”
The Innovation Pavilion runs from October 9 to 11, 2025 as part of the Navy and Marine Corps’ 250th Anniversary Homecoming Celebration. Located on Philadelphia’s historic waterfront, the birthplace of the U.S. Navy, the Pavilion will host demonstrations, exhibits, and discussions on defense technology and workforce pipelines.
Parts Life, Inc. and DeVal Lifecycle Support will be on site throughout the Pavilion with engineering teams, product displays, and live demonstrations. Visitors can see the EAGL Lab in action, view DeVal’s historic and modernized MHU-191 transporter, and engage directly with engineers and program managers.
“Homecoming 250 honors the Navy’s past while focusing on the sustainment challenges of the future,” Whitfield said. “We are honored to stand alongside Navy leadership, industry partners, and the next generation of the workforce in Philadelphia to demonstrate how innovation in engineering and manufacturing ensures mission readiness.”
